About Coach Cris Dishman

Before he was a coach, Cris Dishman was a student of the grind.

A 5th-round draft pick out of Purdue University, Cris didn't just "make it" to the NFL; he dominated it. Over a 13-year professional career with the Houston Oilers, Washington Redskins, Kansas City Chiefs, and Minnesota Vikings, he earned two Pro Bowl selections and was named a First-Team All-Pro. Known as one of the most physical and technically sound "lockdown" corners of the 1990s, Cris finished his playing career with 43 interceptions and a reputation for outworking everyone on the field.

But for Coach Dishman, the accolades were never the goal—they were the result.

The Coaching Legacy: Building Next-Level Talent

Since retiring from the NFL in 2000, Coach Dishman has dedicated over two decades to developing the next generation of talent. From the NFL and NFL Europe to major D1 programs like Baylor and now as the Head Football Coach at Texas Southern University, his track record for developing "Next Level" athletes is unmatched.

Whether coaching All-Pros like Eric Weddle in San Diego or mentoring top-tier high school prospects at IMG Academy, his philosophy remains the same: Elite performance is earned in the details.

The GOAT Skills Philosophy: "Work Through It"

At the Cris Dishman Football Camps, we believe there is only one path to success, and it isn’t around, over, or under the obstacle. The only way to success is to work through it.

This isn't just about football; it's about life. In the "Trenches" and on the "Islands" of the football field, you will face moments where you are tired, outmatched, or frustrated. Most people look for an exit. At our camp, we teach you to look for the work.

Why "Work Through It" Matters:

  • Resilience: We don't just teach you how to catch a ball; we teach you how to respond after you drop one.
  • Discipline: Success is found in the "boring" reps—the footwork drills you do when no one is watching.
  • Mentorship: Every coach on our staff has "worked through it" at the highest levels. We are here to show you that the grind isn't your enemy—it’s your competitive advantage.

"I'm not here to tell you it's going to be easy. I'm here to tell you that the version of yourself you want to become is waiting on the other side of the work." — Coach Cris Dishman
